Boy Hurt In Mall Of America Attack Now 'Walking Perfectly'
TWIN CITIES, MN — The 5-year-old boy who was seriously hurt after being thrown off of the third floor at the Mall of America earlier this year is now “walking perfectly” and “loves” being back at school, according to his family. Landen is now in kindergarten.
“Mom has been doing everything she can to speed up the healing of his wound and working toward getting off some of his medications,” reads the latest update on the boy’s GoFundMe page.
“The wound has finally scabbed over and new skin is growing, and we are still optimistic he will be off some of his medications soon.”
The page notes that Landen “has good memories of all the people who loved him and cared for him in the hospital, so to him follow-up appointments are fun!”
Landen spent nearly five months in the hospital after the April attack. Since then, a total of $1,052,680 has been raised for the boy’s family.

The man who threw Landen from the third floor pleaded guilty to attempted murder in May. Emmanuel Aranda, 24, agreed to a sentence of 19 years in prison, the maximum allowed under the Minnesota Sentencing guidelines.
“There was one bad person, but from that came millions of Good people!” the latest update adds.
