Seven Weird Reason People Gave To Prove That Homosexuality Should Not Be Legalised In India
As the LGBTQ community awaits legal acceptance of their choice and way of life, India is also hoping to take a leap in social norms and fundamental rights that are a part of all its citizens. Tomorrow, the Supreme court may declare homosexuality legal, giving a huge relief to a community that has been living in fear and stigma for years. Yes, homosexuality may not be a crime anymore. The government, too, is okay with that.
A ray of hope first came with a landmark decision in 2009, when the Delhi High Court decriminalised homosexuality among consenting adults by decriminalising Section 377 of IPC which puts same-sex marriage and any homosexual act in the ambit of criminality. Now all eyes are on the wisdom of the apex court that will very soon seal the fate of LGBTQ Indians.
