When is the Champions League 2018-19 last 16 draw? Draw date, time, fixtures & all you need to know
The end of the Champions League draw is gearing closer and excitement has started to build over who could face who in the last 16 stage
The Champions League group stage has drawn to a close, with the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham progressing to the last 16 despite the odds – joining the ranks of Barcelona, Man City, Real Madrid, Juventus and Bayern Munich.
Anticipation will now begin over determining which huge European sides will be drawn against one another in the knockout phase.
So with the draw date edging ever closer, Goal brings you everything you need to know.
The draw for the Champions League last 16 stage will take place on December 17, 2018.
It will be held Nyon at the headquarters of UEFA and proceedings will get started at 11am GMT (6am ET).

In the knockout phase, teams play against each other across two legs on a home-and-away basis, up until the final.
In the round of 16 draw, eight group winners are seeded, and the eight group runners-up are unseeded. The seeded teams are then drawn against the unseeded teams, with the seeded teams hosting the second leg.
Teams from the same group or the same association (e.g. the Premier League) may not be drawn against each other. Int he draws for the quarter-finals and beyond, there are no seedings, and teams from the same group are allowed to be drawn against each other.
Seeded group winners are are to play away in the round of 16 first legs on February 12/13 and February 19/20, and at then at home in the return matches on March 5/6 and March 12/13.

The first leg of the round of 16 stage will be played from February 12-20, and the second legs will be played from March 5-13.
The final will be played on June 1 2019 at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid, the home of La Liga side Atletico Madrid.
The “home” team – for administrative purposes who will be allowed to wear their home strip – will be determined by an additional draw held after the quarter-final and semi-final draws.
