Dr. Dirty - You are the man! I've known your work for 20 years
now. Only 1 month ago did I know that I could actually get in
on the fun with a live performance. Just in from my 2nd show
in a month's time. Had an absolute blast and have some pics
for you and your site, I think you'll love them. You signed my
lady friend's ass last night, great pic of that too! I just wanted
to send you some love and tell you to keep it up! Already,
trying to get a crew together to see you again this Friday.
Keep it coming towards western PA! Again, you are the man,
love the show! I'll keep the Patron coming and not bother you
with the salt or the lemon... Best regards - Danny from
Franklin, Pa
Oh man 30 plus years. I remember the man DR DIRT..playing at
a bar in
Genesso back in '77. To see that he is still playing strong and
still
current is AWESOME. The one song I haven't seen mentioned
anywhere is
my
favorite "Philosophical Bullshit" a real hit with the college
crowd
especialy the ivy league wannabes from upstate new york who
ended up in
state schools HA. Keep rocking out the DIRT man your the best.
Walt
John: I read thru all your comment reviews. Now here's one for
you, see
if you can "rack" your brain for a blast from the past.
30 Plus years ago, as a young musician, I used to go to a club
in Cheektowaga NY called the "Inferno" I believe. specifically
to see a
band named "The Charles". I ended up meeting and talking to
a certain
keyboard player with the band when-ever they were there, and
actually
bought one of my first guitar amps from him. A Fender Reverb !
I still
have that amp, although I've switched to Roland Jazz chorus !
I now live in the Horseheads/Elmira area, of which your playing
soon
@ Tags. Also very good friends with Dave Viterna, Bernie &
Pete. Even
though I'm a lead guitar player, I filled in for Bernie on bass
when he was
ill. Also spent many a nite with Dave at his open mics.
Just thought I'd take you back a bit !
My current band myspace/The CO2 Band !
Congrats on all your success.
Later, R.Kleiber
little late, but what the hell...
I first became aware of Dr. Dirty in 1993. I joined the music
fraternity at my school and our parties often ended up with us
making up dirty limericks or singing while drunk. Some of our
favorites were Gang Bang & Barnicle Bill. No one knew who
they were by - except an "old" guy who said he thought they
were written by a guy named "Dr. Dirty."
Some years later my interest was renewed when my wife & I
heard John Valby on Mancow's radio show in Chicago. Mancow
was a huge fan and my wife was impressed that I knew a lot of
the songs Valby did on that show.
Soon after, Mancow was having a comedy show at the
Rosemont Theater. Knowing that we'd never end up at a Dr.
Dirty show on the east coast we got tickets for the show, just
to see Valby. It was a fiasco. Doug Stanhope was hopelessly
drunk and pretty funny. Most of the audience were there to
see Carlos Mencia - "undiscovered" at the time and also a
Mancow favorite. Lastly, Dr. Dirty came on. The audience
couldn't handle it. After being booed for three or four songs
Valby gave up or Mancow pulled the plug, I'm not sure which. I
wanted to go up to him afterwards to meet him, but I couldn't
make it up to the stage.
Someday I hope to see a full show...until then I'll just have to
listen to the songs on a CD...
I have been a fan of the doctor for over 20 years. I try to "visit"
the doctor whenever possible for some good "medicine." I
finally got to meet him and have my picture taken with him. I
will treasure it forever.

p.s. come back real soon doc!!!
was introduced to your works in the barracks in Lakehurst New
Jersey back in 1988. We’d break out the cassette player, drink
up, and laugh our asses off! I got to see you in Portland Maine
in 1993 or was it 1994? (Too drunk to remember the fucking
year!) But it was a great show, with my buddies girlfriend “now
his wife” on stage for Barnacle Bill and if your happy and you
know it! YUM!!! As I approach the end of 20 years of service in
the military I want to say it’s been a real pleasure listening to,
and passing your stuff on to the younger generations. Your
entertainment is a shining beacon in an ever darkening world
of politically correct bullshit! Keep it CUMMING as long as you
can and thanks for supporting the military.

far north as N. H, And as far east as Worcester MA.
Never a bad show. Just some shows have less T & A then

If you have never seen John before it's a MUST! He's not
getting any younger.

Don Barrie aka Tami & Rogers friend.
Your site is by far one of the best I have seen on
the web, I have had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Valby
approx 20 times over the years and have a good
relationship with Ron and John both. Last year I moved
to Texas for my job and of course have not been to a
show in about a year and a half, thanks to your site I
can listen anytime at my computer. I hope my next
assignment will be back in the northeast, but until
then I will continue to enjoy your site...

Dear John,
I had a buddy over the other night and we started talking
about great local musical acts -- he's from Maryland, me
Syracuse. Eventually the light bulb went off and I pulled out
your album "Dirt" from what must have been 1975 (the Nixon
and Betty Ford stuff gives it away). In the late 70s I saw you a
slew of times in Syracuse, and you've always had an
impression on me, both in terms of your humor and piano, both
of which I pursue to this day. Turns out my buddy saw you 30
years ago as well. He was blown away when I replayed such
classics as "Hey Lade," "Ah-Yi-Yi-Yi" and, of course, the "Eat
Bite Song." After listening to that very scratchy vinyl (ah,
vinyl...) we went to the computer and found out you're still
doing your act. Well, Abbie Hoffman may have gone from
yippie to stock broker, but I'm proud you haven't sold out.
Damn, you even still have the same bowler!
A piece of my youth was rekindled knowing that you're still
bringing joy to drunken assholes from Buffalo to Pittsburgh
(Jesus, John, I thought you'd make it to Chicago by now ;)
Keep on pounding those keys like a Chicken Ranch whore...
Your pal,
Robin Weitz
(rweitz@bwr-la.com)
John, we miss you on the Opie and Anthony XM Satelite Radio
show. The guys at Steinway need another visit. Drop in again,
and this time bring your FUCKING
KEYBOARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey John, super new site. Been a fan since the late 70s. I
laugh just as hard now as then.Cant get the real songs right
any more your words pop in. Thank You very much. Missed you
last time you were in the north west. So i'll save my coin and
come to you. Keep it up! Asshole
John
I first experienced the good doctor some 20 years ago. A
friend of mine gave me this tape to listen to. So, I popped it in
on my way home from a shitty night at work. Needless to say, I
laughed my ass off. In fact, I had to pull over to the side of the
road because I almost wrecked my car! Barnacle Bill was
playing and I was laughing so hard that I was crying...I almost
hit a tree.
From that moment on, I was hooked. I had always dreamed of
seeing him. But it seemed that no one in the mid-west knew
who he was when I mentioned him!!!! *HINT HINT* Come to
Indiana, John...they would love you here! But I digress...
I work in a hospital and one of the ICU nurses was humming
this little tune in a patient's room...and when I finished the
song for him (Was it you who did the pushing?), his eyes lit up!
"Holy fuck! You know that song?" That lead to a delightful
evening discussion of the classic Valby songs...damn, we
laughed hard. Thank goodness the patient was comatose....he
would have thought we were crazy!
As I mentioned, seeing Dr. Dirty live has always been a dream
of mine. And it appears it is going to some true! I am coming
out to PA for the March 24th show in Wilkes Barre!!!! This has
been a long time in cumming..I mean, coming! The 11 hour
drive will be so worth it!
Keep us laughing, John! See ya March 24th!!!!!

Wow...it's been 30 years since I've seen you and I was on the
Kid Rock board and for some reason just started thinking
about your songs because one of the users had a Parental
Advisory Sticker as an Avatar and it reminded me of all the
nasty songs you wrote!!! Brought a big smile on my face!! It
ends up she knows who you are and directed me to the site...I
was shocked because it's been so long!!!
I remember you playing a bar called Knickerbockers in
Cheektowaga, NY, it was an outside concert...I was only about
14 or 15 and couldn't get in the show, but knew of you because
my brother had your album!! We hung out just far enough
outside the event and we could hear the music...I can still see
it! We memorized every single song and I still can quote them
today.
I now live in Birmingham, AL, but I'm going up to see my family
in July...I swear I'm confiscating that Album!!! My husband is a
collector and has approximately 15,000 albums and we have
been fortunate enough to hang out and become friends with a
few Rock Stars...
Shit, I didn't know you were still doing your show....WOW, I just
can't believe I found you after 30 fuckin' years!!!
Mark Germany...I know I KNOW you...where are you from (I saw
your comment on the website)
Thanks for all the good memories...hope I'll get to see you
sometime, now that I'm 43J

Sweet site and can’t wait to see you at Hampton Beach Casino

Kelly - Old Orchard Beach, ME
It must have been around 26 years ago when I first saw John in
Buffalo, but every single one of us new the lyrics to "Eat Bite"
before we were old enough to hit the bars legally. We moved
to Houston in 1983. John Valby's name came up tonight...
Wondering if he was still around. I remember the beginnings
to most of the songs - We were crying we were laughing so
hard. At first my mom was trying to act appalled, then I
reminded her that I took her and dad to a John Valby concert
and there was mom right up front yelling "fuck you," "eat my
shorts," etc. with everyone. My dad pulled out his
autographed album - he'll be 73 on April 19th - still bragging
and laughing about how he sent me up to the stage to get it.
Best,
Carol Borge
was given a John Valby tape several years ago some one had
recorded it never put a name on it so for a few years till i wore
it out i hadnt a clue as to who the person was that produced
the tape.
Is there any chance that John plays anywhere else than the
eastern states? I will be buying some of his cd's.
Keep up the great work i will be checking back in on his Web
Site.
Al
John,
Your the man...... First saw you at Hofstra 1988 or 89 .......15

PS Charlie, Amy and Ken say hi too
Man,
I wish you would come to Baltimore. I used to see you all the
time in Danbury Connecticut. You would play at Tuxedo
Junction. I would get so shit faced. I even once serenaded my
wife to the Ballad of Big Ass Lil, and Yukon Pete.
I moved to Baltimore about 18 months ago, and I think you
would clean up in this town.
Rick Steinhauser

Seriously. Great Website. Can’t wait to see the next fucking
show!
HotRod
Guess I was in on the beginning - I just stumbled upon this
website. But I remember the days - KDR - banging out Up Like
A Tall Dog on the piano, Julie sitting on top, her pussy in your
face, Barnes Boffey singing the lead while pounding down a
keg of beer - Those were the days. One of these days I'll get
down to the Casino Ballroom and see where you've gone from
there. ~Shadow
For those who are unfamiliar with
John Valby, A.K.A. Dr. Dirty, here
are a few words to describe this
pianist/singer/comedian. Vile,
disgusting, obnoxious, tasteless,
racist, sexist, vulgar, degrading,
perverted, sick.
Here's a few more...hilarious,
entertaining, original, talented,
longevity, cult following, sold out.
John Valby, from Buffalo, is a
master pianist who has been
making a great living at singing
perverted versions of popular songs
since the early 1970's. In the early
days Valby was a rebel on the bar
circuits, banned from many clubs
because of his off-color reportoire.
I've heard, perhaps a myth, that
some towns wouldn't even let him
drive through and others had
warrants on him for his lewd act.

THE SHOW YOU DID ON SEPTEMBER 16th AT THE BLACKBOARD
CAFE IN WINDSOR LOCKS CT WAS BY FAR THE BEST SHOW
THAT I HAVE SEEN YOU DO THIS YEAR. I KNOW YOU KNOW
WHO IAM JUST BY THE HAT I WEAR TO YOUR SHOWS. THERE
WAS ABOUT 30 PEOPLE IN OUR GROUP SCATTERED AT 3
DIFFERENT TABLES AROUND THE BAR, BUT YOU KNOW I WAS
FRONT ROW RIGHT BY THE PIANO. THE YOUNG LADY THAT WAS
SITTING ACROSS THE TABLE FROM ME WAS GAIL AND NEXT TO
HER WAS HER HUSBAND TROY. I AM SURE YOUR REMEMBER
THE NAME BECAUSE I HAD TO GIVE HER A HARD TIME DURING
A COUPLE OF SONGS. THANKS TO YOU THERE WAS QUITE A
FEW SICK BASTARDS THE NEXT MORNING DUE TO EXCESS
LAUGHTER AND TEQUILA. I CALL IT THE NIGHT WITH THE GOOD
DOCTOR! HERE'S A SPECIAL REQUEST I HAVE BEEN THINKING
ABOUT. AT FUTURE SHOWS WE SEND OUT A SIGN UP SHEET TO
GET THOSE WILD WOMEN UP ON STAGE FOR THE BARNACLE
BILL SONG.
HERE'S THE DEAL LADIES, IF YOUR BRAVE ENOUGH TO GET UP
ON STAGE THEN YOU SHOULD BE BOLD ENOUGH TO PLAY
ALONG.

still love you today.
You are a wonderful pianist and entertainer.
I hope you come back to Cleveland even though the Oden is
closed. Maybe the Funky Frog in Mentor? You fucker
better cum to see us.I had the best time last year, I left the
Odeon with at least 6 other guys signatures an my breasts,of
course under yours.Ha Ha Ha!
Lori the nurse from Cleveland.
have no idea if you could help me, but sometime in the 90's my
husband who is deceased now, had this tape, and I believe it
was Dr.Dirty and the pixies, but I could be wrong, it sounded
like the chipmukes, and they say songs like, My wife is on floor
again, Somewhere under my pubics, and Curkin Jerkin Pickle.
LOL I have searched and searched for this and I have had no
luck. When I type in the words to the song, John Valby comes
up? If you think you can help me with a correct name or any
info on this is would be GREAT. THanks so much, Kathleen
Hixon

Stump Jen!
Wednesday August 23rd
Today's catagory: music 1980s-present
The trivia question that stumped Jen today was:
Name the three drummers from KISS:
The answer was: Peter Kriss, Eric Carr, and Eric Singer
Congratulations to Scott Brown, our softball player-
extraordinaire, who came up with the winning question (&
answer) today, and walked away with tickets to Six Flags
Darien Lake!!
Play Stump Jen weekdays during the Morning Lite with Jim
Lee! Jim will announce a catagory and it's up to you to come up
with a trivia question to ask Jen that will stump her. If she can't
figure out the answer, then you win the prize!!
WOW has it been that long?
Makes me feel Fuckin old
I have been to many of your shows.
Remember The Rumrunner of Oyster Bay , NY ?
How about The Satly Dog in Huntington , NY
Maybe The Windjammer on the beach in Rhode Island
I remember sneaking into the Rumrunner as an under aged
High School punk.
I think my friend Frank actually started the whole “Sing Fucker
Sing” thing there a long time ago.
I also remember the entire Governors’ Comedy Club chanting
“Rita” “Rita” since she was with us for the early show and was
on stage for the infamous
12 days of Xmas flash. Unfortunately for her, her boyfriend
joined us for the second show and he was totally unaware that
she flashed during the first set.
That was quite a surprise for him to hear the crowd chant to
see her tits AGAIN!!
Anyway Valby is the limit
Sing Fucker Sing
Hey, John!
Great website, with some very interesting biographical details
as well
as some pretty groovy audio and video clips. What a terrific
resource!
Just saw your show tonight at the Wildwood Bowl in
Riverhead. It was
abso-fuckin'-lutely fan-fucking-tastic!
I lived, however, only the first part of my dream, which was to
see one
of your shows and to have my wife, Lori (the one whom you
thought had a
great ass) up on stage singing in her full operatic voice (she's
an
internationally known opera and new music singer), your
marvelous
"Barnacle Bill" tune.
The second part of my dream is for you to hear some of my
own brand of
filthy music, inspired without doubt by the maestro, Dr. Dirty.
Though it wasn't possible to do a number at your show tonight,
I'd
still very much, if its ok with you, like to send you a CD of a
couple
of tunes, which I have dedicated in your honor. My main bag is
not
entirely your scene, as I'm mostly a professional
classical/experimental/opera and, occasionally, a TV
composer. But I
do very much consider my smaller filthy side to be a part of
what I do,
and so I'd like to share it with you, not because I want you to
help me
to promote it in any commercial sense, but simply because I'd
value the
thought of your having had the opportunity of listening to it. If
you
like the song, you are, of course, more than welcome to play it
in your
concerts, but that is not at all my reason for sending it along.
I have to admit, with some shame, that I've not actually
bothered to
make a decent recording of these tunes, but I'm willing to do a
passable ruff version in the very near future, after which I
could send
you a copy. If you like it, I can also send you the score for it.
By the way, your path sounds remarkably familiar to mine, as I
didn't
start writing filth until my freshman year at Oberlin
Conservatory,
though once I graduated in 1984, I pretty much stopped writing
such
songs and chose a rather different musical path -- perhaps
one less
wise than your path of forgoing classical music for the market
niche of
filthy parodies. I still do, on occasion whip up a silly pop tune
or
even a filthy parody of a famous song, but don't do any more
purely
original filth. Who knows, though, maybe tonight's concert will
re-awaken that part of me.
At any rate, I'll leave you with my sincere thanks for having
been a
tremendous source of fun and inspiration for me since I first
heard
your recordings in the late seventies, and especially for
having put on
one of the most entertaining shows that I've experienced in a
very long
time. What I always find refreshing about your work is that you
are
entirely and utterly irreverent in everything you do, and that
audiences, nonetheless, accept you and adore you.
May Jerry Falwell rot in hell!
With utmost admiration and respect,
Dr. Howard Fredrics

I personally go by the psydonum dr.F-K up and handle his

If I could only count the number of times I said that at your
shows! Now, I haven't seen you since 1978 when you played at
the Slide Inn in downtown Syracuse, remember that fuckin'
shithole of a dive? Holy CRAP that place was great! I STILL
have LP's personally autographed by you! There's imitators
that have ripped you off here in NJ, but YOU... ARE STILL...after
30 fuckin' years.... the MESSIAH OF MUCK! The PROFESSOR
OF PUTRESCENCE! The fuckin' SAVANT OF SMUT!
YOU.... ROCK!
Congrats on 30 fuckin' years!

IN THE LATE 70'S i WAS STATIONED IN THE U.K. AND ONE OF
THE PEOPLE WHO
WORKED WITH ME GAVE ME A DR. DIRTY TAPE TO LISTEN TO
AND I'VE BEEN
HOOKED EVER
SINCE. THE LAST TIME JOHN CAME TO TAMPA, I HAD TO GO TO
A DEAR FRIENDS
FUNERAL
.....AND IT TOOK HIS FUNERAL TO KEEP ME FROM MAKING IT
TO A DR. DIRTY
CONCERT AT
SIDESPLITTERS AND IN THE OLD DAYS, AT A CLUB IN ST.
PETERSBURG ! I
BROUGHT A
FRIEND TO ONE OF THE CONCERTS...HE SAID THAT THERE WAS
NO WAY HE COULD
SING A
DITTY WITH HIS NAME IN IT ! WRONG ANSWER....JOHN WAS
SINGING IT
IN 14
SECONDS AND MY BUDDY ARMANDO WAS SLINKED DOWN IN
THE CHAIR IN
DISBELIEF THAT
ANYBODY WAS OR IS THAT TALENTED OR QUICK WITTED !
WAY TO GO JOHN........I'LL
SEE YOU
AT SIDESPLITTERS ON THE 25TH!
WALT.
Dear Mr. Webmaster,
Can you tell me if John Valby was in a fraternity called FIJI
at any time? I heard his song “My dick is small” on XM radio
today and there is a large section of it that is exactly like one
of my fraternity’s songs called “Yo-ho”. I know that he’s been
doing it for 30 years (not sure how long he’s been singing that
particular song), and I’m not sure how long my fraternity has
been singing our version. I just wanted to know because we
always like to keep a tab on Famous Fijis. Other notable
members include Jack Nicklaus, Payne Stewart, Johnny
Carson, President Calvin Coolidge, and many others. It seems
to me that he would fit right in. Let me know, I’m interested.
Thanks
Holy fuckin A!!! Hi John ! Tom and I have been listening to you
and seeing you for 26 years now. When's the next bonfire?
See you at Sunset Beach in June Love you honey The 54EE

Back in 1979 I was in the Air Force stationed in Alamogordo,
NM.
A buddy from upstate New York came back from leave and
brought to me a cassette of a live recording
done at Farmingdale College. It was by some weirdo named
John Valby. It was unbelievably funny.
The only other time I've ever come across John's work was
when I first
saw the movie "Losin' It"
with Tom Cruise and Shelley Long. As soon as I heard the
voice I knew it was John.
I still have that cassette.
Keep rockin.

Fuck you, you fucking fuck. How about a fucking show during
fucking Bike Week in Daytona Beach, FL, March 2-11, 2007.
What a fucking venue that would be. Can't for you to cum back
to fucking Wildwood, NJ in the meantime!!!! Until then, FUCK
YOU.
RINGO
John...congrats on your thirty years...many more to come I
hope. I first saw you in 1979 or 1980 in Binghamton NY when I
was in college....I still have albums you signed for me. I've
lived in Atlanta since 1986 so have not been exposed in many
years to a live show. But rest assured
when I'm stuck in Atlanta traffic...somtimes a Dr. Dirty CD is all it
takes to make everything OK again.
Good luck,

I have been a fan of DR. Dirty for about 8 years now, I found
one of his songs while surfing the net for some porn, I have
never had the chance to see him perform live I live in a little
back woods hick town in Idaho, I love listening to his music
loud when my wife is at home, she finds him repulsive and
disgusting, so I enjoy the songs even more, I just want to say
thanks to Mr. Valby for making the world a lighter place to live
in.
By the way, man...I love the site,...awesome job you did.
Thanks again, Scott. I hope the pics are able to make it onto my
"Dean's Fan Page".
Sincerely,
Dean
